Randy Worthey began his career in the swimming pool industry in 1976 doing clean-up around newly constructed pools for on of the largest pool builders in the nation. After two years he had worked his way up to construction supervisor, where he oversaw the construction of over 200 pools per year. In 1980 he became the Vice President of United Pools in Houston, Texas, where he remained until 1984 and decided to get his college degree. In 1989 Randy graduated Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aircraft Systems, but his love for t he swimming pool industry brought him right back. That same year he became the construction manager for Blue Haven Pools in San Antonio, Texas. He later moved back to Houston to take over the General Manager Position of Blue Haven's South Houston Office.
Working for such a large builder Randy did not have the time to "get personal" with the homeowners. So he struck out o his own and began his own smaller more personal pool company where he has been since. But through the years Randy has seen over and over again, frustrated customers. Mostly because they did not do the research or aske specific questions before signing the contract, or agreement. It was for this reason he decided to write this book. An effort to help those potential customers buy a pool for less money overall and endure the least amount of suffering throough the construction proccess.
